Hygiene - ensuring that only valid email addresses are used for broadcasts:

  1. We will identify and remove invalid domain names and incorrect email structures, profanities, harvested addresses and potential spam traps.
  2. Permissioning - there is a proven correlation between the robustness of the permissioning mechanism, and the responsiveness of the list. The permissioning mechanisms you are making use of to build your in-house email address database will be reviewed according to legal requirements.
  3. Bounceback Handling - processes will be updated so that if email addresses that generate bounce-backs are immediately removed from future selections. Your email list will also be screened against our 2.5 million hard-bounces file.
  4. Purchase of third party data used for email broadcasting activities will be reviewed. It is vital to ensure that the data is permissioned for third party emails, had been regularly cleaned and matches the profile of your customers/prospects.

Deliverability - reviewing content and recency management:

  1. A significant amount of emails landing into bulk/junk folders is caused by content filters. Your creative copy will be checked by Email Content Validation tools.
  2. Recency Management. ISPs take a dim view of broadcasters who send their emails to addresses that have been non-responsive (non-active) for a long time. Your recency management practices will be reviewed.

Reputation - a broadcaster's reputation with ISPs is crucial to maximising campaign deliverability. The Hydrate programme will evaluate your campaigns for real deliverability rate to inbox, data quality, complaints, external reputation, bounce-backs, and blacklistings.

Targeted emails - Ultimately, once delivery issues have been resolved, the success of your campaigns will be determined by the effectiveness of the marketing message and timing. We will analyse the results from previous campaigns and make suggestions to improve the ROI of future activity.
