Senior Account Director
Reporting to: Head of Client Management (HCM)
Overview:
This position is for a senior member of the account management team who will be integral to
Database Group’s plans for further growth and greater profitability.
The SAD will manage a mix of clients with the support of Account Managers and Account Executives
as required.
The ideal candidate for this role will have a minimum of 5 years of database-related experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- To control and oversee the efficient and cost effective running of allocated / nominated client accounts
- To manage direct report staff as allocated and ensure that they meet their personal objectives
- To undertake regular internal Account Plan presentations and external review meetings with clients
- To provide input to clients at a strategic level, where possible using insight or input from the insight team.
- To deliver and maintain growth on existing accounts through strategic input
- To keep clients aware of new developments, and spot opportunities for selling additional services
- Occasionally to work with the new business team to deliver new business proposals
- To use your interpersonal & communications skills to encourage teams to work with you to deliver targets and growth
- To develop DbG’s presence and standing with clients
Skills: Either possessed or to be developed
- Data – all aspects of data
- Excel, Word, Powerpoint
- Good communication
- Faststats, Alterian or SmartFocus
- An understanding of Campaign Processing
- Basic customer analysis capability

Account Manager
This position is an Account Manager (AM) to work across both database and print clients.
The AM will manage a mix of clients with 1 or 2 larger retainer-based clients and a number of
smaller irregular clients.
The ideal candidate for this role will have both database and print experience, however the nature
of the print work is not complex so a high level of print knowledge is not required.
This position will report into the Head of Client Management (HCM) initially and then into a Senior Account Director (new position being recruited).
Key Responsibilities:
- To ensure the efficient day to day management of the accounts at an operational level
- To act as a liaison and first point of operational contact between the Clients and DbG
- To liaise with the HCM/other colleagues if problems arise and agree a remedial plan
- To support the HCM & Senior Account Directors in providing strategic support to the clients
- To develop and foster relationships with Clients
Skills:
- Excellent project manager
- Very well organised and able to multi task
- Able to work under time pressure when required
- Computer literate and able to use standard programmes: i.e. Excel, Outlook, Word, Powerpoint
- Good communicator
- Knowledge of direct marketing and database marketing
- Knowledge of direct marketing print management
- Financially aware with ability to manage forecasting/budgeting

Account Manager (E-Broadcasting)
Reporting to: Head of Client Management (HCM)
Overview:
Database Group has an e-broadcasting division called Database Group Interactive (DbGi).
This position is an Account Manager (AM) working for DbGi.
DbGi has c. 7 large e-broadcasting clients, and c. 20 small clients. The larger clients
will be in daily contact, the smaller clients will have less regular contact.
Some of the smaller clients prefer that DbGi manages the broadcasting for them, in which
case the AM will need to learn how to use the web-based broadcast tool and construct the
campaigns themselves (with guidance from colleagues).
Key Responsibilities:
- To ensure the efficient day to day management of the email accounts at an operational level
- To act as a liaison and first point of operational contact between the Clients and DbG
- To liaise with the HCM/other colleagues if problems arise and agree a remedial plan
- To support the DbGi Sales Director in providing strategic support to the clients
- To develop and foster relationships with Clients
- Using DbGi’s e-broadcasting tool to manage the e-broadcasting for clients who require a hands-on service.
- Ensuring that campaigns that require broadcast management are sent out on time and according to client requirements
- Answering clients questions as they relate to their e-broadcasting needs, liaising with internal colleagues to ensure that the right answers are given
- Escalating any problems to HCM/other colleagues to ensure speedy & effective resolution
- Accurate invoicing on completion of a project
- Supply of quotations as requested by the client
- Developing and growing client relationships, and where possible the value of the account
- Occassional attendance at client meetings with the Sales Director
- Providing accurate revenue forecasts and budgets to the Head of Client Management
- Maintenance of an up-to-date and easy to reference client filing system
- Completion of timesheets, to be submitted on a weekly basis
